The Competition

The Tournament In Management and Engineering Skills (TIMES) is the largest pan-European case study competition for Industrial Engineering and Management students. This prestigious and highly acclaimed event has been successfully organised since 1994 and attracts over 250 teams each year.

The Concept

Using their interdisciplinary skills in engineering and management teams of four IEM students have three to four hours in the competition to solve cases which are close to reality. Afterwards they have to present their suggested solution in front of an experienced jury, consisting of company representatives and professors.

The Procedure

The tournament is organised in three levels and is held completely in English: Teams from all over Europe are participating in Local Qualifications at their home university. The winning teams are sent to one of the 8 Semi-Finals. Accordingly, the best team of each Semi-Final is sent to take part in the Final to compete for the title “IEM Student of the Year”.
